Sterilisation Protocol

What is Sterilization Protocol?

At Shah Dental Care Clinic, sterilization refers to the complete elimination of bacteria, viruses, fungi, and spores from all dental instruments and surfaces. This is crucial to prevent cross-infection and ensure a safe clinical environment for every patient.

Why is Sterilization Important?

  • Infection Prevention: Keeps patients safe from harmful microorganisms.

  • Health Compliance: Follows strict guidelines laid down by authorities like the Indian Dental Association (IDA) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

  • Safety for All: Minimizes the risk of disease transmission between patients and dental professionals.

  • Upholding Hygiene Standards: Demonstrates our clinic’s commitment to world-class hygiene and patient trust.

Our 4-Step Sterilization Process

  • Thorough Cleaning & Disinfection
Every instrument is first cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner to eliminate any organic residues. All touchpoints — including dental chairs, counters, and tools — are disinfected after each patient visit.

  • Sealed Packaging
Once cleaned, instruments are enclosed in sterile pouches to prevent contamination before further processing.

  • Advanced Autoclaving
We utilize Class B Autoclaves — the gold standard in dental sterilization — which use pressurized steam at temperatures between 121°C to 134°C to destroy all microorganisms.

  • Sterile Storage & Handling
Sterilized tools are stored in a designated contamination-free area and are only unsealed in front of the patient prior to the procedure.
